Retrofit the WYSIWYG editor

I believe the WYSIWYG editor can use some retrofitting. Maybe we can create our own engine as opposed to using Microsoft's IHTMLDocument2 as our design engine. I believe we can make a more user friendly interface and make the overall object easier and better to work with. One of the major problems with the IHTMLDocument2 is how it formats the HTML code it's storing. The problem is when switching back and forth between the Design and Source modes, the source code get reformatted by the IHTMLDocument2. I think this problem should be addressed and redesigning the WYSIWYG editor is the only solution I can see, short of reformatting the code again when you swith back to Source mode from Design mode.
